Technical Support Engineer – Cambridge

Kameo Recruitment is exclusively recruiting for a motivated Technical Support Engineer to join an established Cambridge-based Tech company, on client sites (Cambridgeshire, London and Hertfordshire). You will be joining an ambitious, progressive and supportive Client Strategy team.

The successful candidate will be providing guidance and advice for their clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring customers have a seamless experience.

Duties and responsibilities of the Technical Support Engineer: 

  • Supporting approximately 5 clients, on-site 4 days per week and 1 day from home
  • Providing guidance and advice for clients, across varied IT projects
  • Providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and guiding customers through setup and usage processes

Requirements for the Technical Support Engineer: 

  • Demonstrable technical skills within a Windows environment
  • Experience managing on-prem Active Directory and other Windows server roles
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 tenancies across various products such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Teams
  • Ability to analyse and resolve problems systematically, identifying root causes and implementing solutions efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Seeking an opportunity for professional growth and skill development
  • Experience with backup systems and storage platforms

Desirable is:

  • Demonstrable technical skills within a Linux and MacOS
  • Knowledge of virtualisation (either through VMware or Hyper-V)
  • Knowledge of running clients in a hybrid environment with AD DS and AAD
  • Knowledge of Azure or AWS
  • Knowledge of serverless public cloud-based services (Azure Blob Storage)
  • Knowledge of networking and firewall management

This is not your average Technical Support role; the ideal candidate will be technical and enjoy helping customers overcome technical challenges. Along with this, you will need to be a confident communicator and have a positive approach.
