Salary: £25,000 – £27,000

Kameo Recruitment is partnering with a vivacious and expanding nursery to find them a passionate Room Leader.

The successful candidate will work as a key member of the nursery team to provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children in addition to contributing towards an environment which safeguards children at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Room Leader:

  • To support colleagues to have the specific knowledge and skills required to work effectively with children aged 0 to 59 months
  • To follow and lead the curriculum policy within the team and monitor the effectiveness of practice of key persons within the room
  • To keep records of children’s development and learning journeys, share this with parents/carers and organise parent reviews
  • To coach and mentor the team with existing and new initiatives
  • To support all team members with early identification and intervention for children with emerging needs
  • Give physical, emotional and intellectual guidance as appropriate
  • Support the team to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to complete two-year-old development checks effectively
  • Undertake appropriate supervision meetings
  • Support team members to seek out any training or support they may require to fulfil their roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure that all record keeping is accurate and up to date, including learning journeys of all children, sleep chart, bathroom checks, accident forms, daily risk assessments and any other forms that support the learning, development, and welfare of the children
  • To be responsible for good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness with the room and ensure that the safety standards are appropriate
  • To ensure confidentiality of all information received by all team members in your area

Requirements of the Room Leader:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Qualified Practitioner (Level 2 will be considered)
  • In-date paediatric first aid certificate

Please note that as the position involves working within the close proximity of young children, the post holder will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and to be a member of the DBS Update Service.
