Duties and responsibilities of the Cyber Security Engineer:
- Serving as the go-to resource for all cyber security-related matters
- Providing expert-level technical support and guidance to the wider business
- Collaborating with the security team to monitor and investigate security incidents and vulnerabilities
- Developing and maintaining information security policies, standards, and procedure
- Acting as a key resource during cyber security incidents, providing expertise in incident handling, containment, eradication, and recovery
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritise cyber security risks
Requirements for the Cyber Security Engineer:
- CISSP, CISM, CIPP, CCSP certification(s)
- Extensive experience in the field of cyber security
- Experience in Microsoft security services, products, and architecture such as Defender for End Point, Defender for Servers, Defender for Cloud, Log Analytics, Sentinel SIEM, Entra, Purview, etc.
- Expert knowledge of network security, operating systems, databases, web applications, and cloud computing
- Understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus, and data loss prevention
- Experience with security assessment tools and techniques
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
This is not your average Cyber Security Engineer role and the ideal candidate will be highly skilled in their field and have a positive approach.
